ATTORNEYS

I help attorneys strengthen their clients' immigration cases with comprehensive, culturally sensitive psychological evaluations that meet the highest standards for asylum, hardship, and citizenship waiver cases.

If you are an immigration attorney and are looking to provide your clients with evaluations that meet the highest professional standards and can bolster their legal position, I would be honored to collaborate with you.

IMMIGRATION CLIENTS

I help immigration clients strengthen their cases with compassionate, culturally sensitive psychological evaluations that support VAWA, asylum, hardship, and citizenship waiver applications.

If you are an immigrant in California or Nevada and are facing challenges in your immigration journey, I am here to provide a supportive, understanding approach to help strengthen your case. My evaluations not only address the legal requirements but also honor your experiences, giving voice to your unique story with compassion and care.

WHAT I DO

I provide comprehensive and compelling assessments for the following types of applications with emphasis on:

  • Identifying unique factors contributing to a client’s psychological distress such as: illness; disability; professional, financial, or academic hardship; or adverse home-country conditions that would affect the petitioner or their family members.

  • Explaining psychological reasons why a client missed the one-year filing deadline; and detailing how PTSD symptoms provide evidence

    of the persecution they suffered.

  • Detailing the client’s psychological symptoms which are common for domestic violence victims; assessing credibility; and where useful, explaining less common phenomena such as ways in which men are abused by female partners.

  • Providing trauma-informed evaluations for clients who have been victims of certain crimes (U visa) or trafficking (T visa). I assess the psychological impact of the trauma they have experienced, helping to establish the severe emotional and psychological consequences of their victimization, which strengthens their eligibility for these protective visas.

  • Conducting evaluations that document cognitive or psychological impairments which prevent the client from fulfilling the English or civics requirements for naturalization. This includes diagnosing conditions that impact memory, comprehension, or concentration, and explaining why these impairments are unlikely to improve over time.

FAQs About Immigration Evaluations in California and Nevada provided by Dr. Dasa

  • I meet with the client twice, for about 1 hour to 1.5 hours each time.
    • After the 2nd meeting, I write up a detailed report, around 12-15 pages.

    • Due to a wait list, evaluations generally take 3 weeks to complete after the 2nd interview.

  • Yes, I can help make your case stronger. Your attorney handles the legal parts, and I provide a report about your mental health and experiences. This report can show how your situation has affected you and can be important for cases like asylum, hardship waivers, or VAWA. My report gives your attorney more support to help tell your story in a clear and convincing way.

  • An immigration evaluation can significantly strengthen your case by providing thorough, professional documentation of your mental health and personal experiences, which are often critical components of immigration applications. While an evaluation alone cannot guarantee a win, it offers a powerful piece of evidence that can help demonstrate the psychological impact of your circumstances. My assessments are designed to address the specific legal criteria relevant to your case type, such as asylum, hardship waivers, or VAWA cases, and provide credible, detailed insights that can support your attorney’s legal arguments.

  • The fee is $ 1,000-$1,500 and includes both meetings, as well as the report.

There is a $500 rush fee if someone needs the report within 2 weeks or less.
