Dr. Dasa Jendrusakova, PsyD

When life feels heavy and the challenges keep piling up, it’s hard to know where to start. Maybe you are feeling stuck in a pattern of attention deficits, anxiety or weighed down by the effects of trauma. Perhaps your child is struggling in school, and you’re searching for answers that go beyond labels. Or, you may be navigating the complexities of immigration and need an evaluation that captures the depth of your experience. Whatever brought you here, it’s okay to need support, and it’s okay to want a professional who truly cares and trys to understand.

The search for a psychologist in Las Vegas, NV, or Ventura, CA can feel daunting. You need someone who not only has the expertise to help but also creates a safe, supportive space where you can be honest about what is really going on.

My name is Dr. Dáša Jendrusakova, and I became a psychologist because I deeply love helping people who have been through hard situations and want to make their lives better. Seeing my clients not only heal but also positively impact their families, friends, and communities fills me with purpose. I believe that when one person thrives, the ripple effect of their growth extends far beyond their own life.

I am a certified school psychologist and licensed clinical psychologist in California and Nevada, specializing in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychological evaluations, and immigration evaluations. I provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care to individuals and families, empowering clients to move through life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

As a Catholic and Christian faith-based psychologist, I also understand the importance of integrating spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process when it is meaningful to the client. I respect and honor each client’s values, and for those who desire it, I provide a space where faith can be an essential part of the healing journey.

My Credentials and Experience

I am licensed by the Board of Psychological Examiners (PY0934) in the State of Nevada and Board of Psychologists in California (PSY2784). I earned my combined bachelor’s and master’s degree in Psychology and Biology from the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra, Slovakia, in 1997. I later pursued my postmaster’s (MFT) in 2008 and obtained my doctoral degree in Clinical and School Psychology from Kean University in New Jersey in 2017.

In addition to being a certified school psychologist in New Jersey, California, and Nevada, I have extensive experience working as a seasoned school psychologist across the United States and internationally in Europe. I have conducted psychological assessments, developed intervention plans, and worked with diverse populations in a variety of settings, giving me a unique understanding of how culture, environment, and family dynamics shape a person’s experience.

My work includes psychological health and diagnostic assessments, neuropsychological screenings, psycho-educational evaluations for learning disabilities, 504/IEPs/MDTs, and SLP, which is a Student Learning Plan for students in private schools, as well as forensic and immigration evaluations, including hardship, asylum, and N-648 evaluations. You can reach me at 805-334-0380.

Passion for Research and Advancing the Field

I am passionate about contributing to the field of psychology through research and ongoing learning. Since 2018, I have participated as a WPS, PRO-ED, and Pearson field research examiner, administering assessments and contributing to the development of cutting-edge psychological tools.

My research has explored a variety of critical areas in psychology:

My dissertation, “Factors Related to Practitioner Attitudes Regarding Discipline Practices,” examined the factors that shape the perspectives of practitioners on effective and ethical discipline approaches. This research highlights my commitment to understanding how attitudes toward discipline can impact the therapeutic and educational experiences of children and adolescents.

My master’s thesis in education focused on the positive impact of intervention programs in schools and how targeted interventions can foster better emotional regulation, behavior, and academic success among students. This work has given me a deep understanding of how school-based programs can create supportive environments that empower children to thrive.

My master’s thesis, “Group Intervention Program for Children with Externalizing Behavioral Difficulties,” focused on developing and evaluating a group-based intervention designed to support children struggling with externalizing behaviors such as aggression, defiance, and impulsivity. This work has equipped me with practical knowledge about designing effective group interventions that foster positive behavior change.

My undergraduate thesis, “The Value Orientation of Adolescents,” explored how value systems shape the decision-making processes and worldview of adolescents, emphasizing the importance of understanding a young person’s value framework when providing psychological support.

This extensive research background informs my work with clients, helping me approach complex issues with a deeper understanding of the factors that shape behavior, attitudes, and values.

Multilingual Expertise

I am fluent in English, Slovak, and Czech and have passive knowledge of French, Polish, and Russian. This linguistic versatility allows me to provide culturally sensitive and effective services to a diverse range of clients, ensuring that language and cultural differences do not become barriers to receiving quality care. Whether you feel more comfortable expressing yourself in your native language or prefer therapy in English, I create a welcoming space where you can be fully understood.

My Approach to Therapy

In therapy, I integrate evidence-based approaches tailored to meet the unique needs of my clients. Two of the primary modalities I use are Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Satir Family Therapy.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps clients develop mindfulness skills, clarify their values, and take meaningful action even when life feels overwhelming. This approach fosters greater psychological flexibility and resilience, helping clients move forward with confidence.

Satir Family Therapy emphasizes improving communication, nurturing self-esteem, and fostering healthier, more fulfilling relationships within families.

When requested, I also incorporate Christian faith-based principles into the therapeutic process, offering clients a space to explore how their faith can provide strength and guidance as they work through life’s challenges.

By blending these approaches, I equip my clients with practical tools and compassionate support to create lasting change in their lives. Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, ADHD, relationship challenges, or seeking psycho-educational or immigration evaluations, I am here to guide you through the process.
