What to expect from your first therapy session in Las Vegas?

So, you know that your problems can't go on any longer and you can't wait for others to take care of it. You are trying to figure out what you need and what to expect if you start seeing someone for your ADHD or trauma.
What will happen after you decide to schedule with your therapist in Las Vegas?
After you decide and you feel like this is the right fit, I will send you detailed information about my services to read over and fill out using a HIPAA compliant system that I can access right away.
What do you need to do to prepare for the first session with your therapist in Las Vegas?
You will receive a link with a questionnaire and material that we will be using in therapy to help you with your ADHD or anxiety or specific problem. It is important that you complete it and submit at least 24 hours before your first session. This gives me time to review it prior to seeing you and allows us to really jump in during the first session.
All of our sessions will be online and they will be secure. You will need to find a quiet space. Sometimes people do their sessions when no one is home or in their office where they won’t be disturbed. They turn off their phones and eliminate distractions. I have a secure link you will click, and then your video and my video will pop up so we can do our session.
What happens in the first session?
During the first session we will focus on: If we were to fast forward 3 months, 6 months, whatever, and therapy did exactly what you needed, what would your life look like? How could I tell that it has worked by looking from the outside?
Will I have homework?
I will provide you with worksheets specifically developed to help you with your type of challenges, whether it is your anxiety, inability to focus, or get over the trauma you experienced. You can decide the pace you want to go with.
When will I have my next session with my therapist in Las Vegas?
I work really intensely with clients. That means we meet once per week, every week, until you reach your goal. I know that most people don’t call me right away, they call when they are ready to feel better, and I want to dig in and help you heal as quickly as possible. I don’t want you to be in therapy forever!
What if I don’t like what happened in the first session or I am not sure it is a good match?
It is important that you and I both have a clear picture of what our goal is during our first session. This way we can regularly check in and see if what we are doing is working and if we are moving along toward that goal. I believe that, if it isn’t working, what's the point? We will need to change something and do what will work for you.
However, if what we do doesn't work, I will change it change it up or refer you out. I care more about you actually healing and making progress and living a healed life full of joy than anything else.
